The Writing on the wall

The purpose was to see if the scientists were true or not if you can judge someone by the way they write. I took 10 peoples signatures and then analyzed them.

Can What you don't know hurt you?

The purpose of this project was to determine whether or not subliminal messages influence people decisions. Subjects were to pick a cup with a number from one-five on it, once while a subliminal message was being played, once without one. It was concluded that subliminal messages didn't influence people because there was no significant increase in the number of people who picked the cup suggested in the message.

What did you hear?

Stephanie Burnett 95'-96'

This experiment was to determine weather subliminal messages were affective. There was a message hidden in a tape, and then five people listened to this music with the message in it. There was two control groups. Then each group was asked five questions and the answers were compared to see if the messages affected the people.

Feast or Fast

Going to Any Depth

35 sunflower seeds were planted at seven different depths (five each depth). They were watched and watered in order to determine if the recommended planting depth of ½ inch was the ideal depth to plant the seeds.

Teens, Weight, Stress

The purpose was to see if overweight teens experience a heavier stress level and experience less fulfilling life than do thin teens. I past out surveys then divided them into two groups (fat, thin) then compiled responses and compared both groups.

What Effects Crickets?

The purpose of the project was to see what kind of products you find around the house will kill a cricket and what way is the fastest. We put a cricket in a box with a cotton ball with the liquid on it, timed it and recorded it.

"Who am I?"

Pudding Senses on the Line

This project was developed to discover if different environments affect one's pulse and if fears and phobias could possibly be detected in the results. We tested ten subjects in seven different environments. Then recorded the results and made conclusions. The control turned out to generate the highest pulse which nullified our hypothesis.

The effects of Reward on gender related memories

The purpose was to see if boys and girls remember pictures common to their own gender, and to see if giving them a reward would increase their short-term memory abilities. 50 students (25 girls, 25 boys) were used in each experiment. In the control, The boys remembered boy pictures and the girls remembered both. In the reward, the boys remembered 1% more than the girls.

The purpose of this project is to demonstrate and prove that the frequency of a sound given off from a object moving toward a stationary listening object will sound higher than it actually is or lower than it actually is if the object giving off the source of the sound is moving away from the listening object.

Great Tarts O Fire

The purpose of this project was to see the effects of a Pop Tart when left in a defective toaster that heated for too long at too high of a temperature. The experiments also were designed to see if the frosting on a Pop Tart caused them to make larger flames that Pop Tarts without frosting.

Its basic purpose is to find out of certain materials insulate you in sub-freezing weather, better than others. I took approximately the same amount of material and wrapped it round a jar filled with room temperature water. I then checked the temperature certain time increments.

What if the Earth was a square?

The project shows what the earth's climate, rain effects, and sun rays would by like on the earth if it were a square. There were two experiments used to come to a conclusion. First to find the sun's effects and the second to find how rain would flow one each shape.

Efficient Insulation

The purpose is to see which insulation, out of the few I chose, would hold heat the best. This was done by putting boiling water in jars that are covered in one of the insulations and then putting them in the freezer. Then after an hour taking the temperature of each one.

Set one colorful box and I bland box in front of a class of juniors and seniors and then again in front of a class of second graders and ask them observe the boxes as best as they can. The purpose was to see which class observed better.

Hydroponics vs. soil

The project consists of a hydroponics plant grown on a hydroponics system with added nutrients, and an organically grown plant that is in soil but has the nutrients from the hydroponics plant added to it. The purpose was to see if the organically grown plant with added nutrient do better than the hydroponicallly grown tomato plant.
